Guidelines for Financial Giving
Proportionate giving is the guideline used at St. Thomas’ Church. We are not asked to pay a membership fee; we are not billed for our share of the budget; we are not charged for services.
We are asked to give a percentage of our income.
This offering recognizes that all we have comes from God, and we are returning a portion of what we have been given to further God’s work in the world.
A pledge card will be mailed to every household at the end of October and cards will be available also in the church.
You decide on your own payment schedule; weekly, monthly, annually.
Weekly offering envelopes are available.
Personal checks are the most common form of pledge payment, but cash is fine as long as it is in an offering envelop to insure inclusion on your giving statement.
You will receive quarterly statements keeping you informed about the progress of your giving.
In January each year, you will receive a final statement detailing your giving to the Church which can be used to fill out your income tax return.
You may change your pledge at any time during the year; no explanation is necessary. However, since the annual budget is based on the expected pledge income, you are asked to notify the office of any change in the giving amount.
Pledge now or make an online payment.
