Religion Expressed in Great Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
On Sunday May 6, we will tour the Museum’s European Art 1100-1500 Galleries led by Senior Curator Joseph J. Rishel. Tour is limited to 30 participants.  The cost is $20 per person.Bus leaves from church at 12:00 P.M. Sign-ups after church (MacColl and narthex) beginning Sunday 4/15.

Tuesday, May 8 and Wednesday, May 9
Dead Sea Scrolls
Dr. Will Gafney will be giving a 45 minute presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls with 15 minutes for questions and answers at noon on Tuesday, May 8 in Haas Hall.  She will give the same talk on Wednesday, May 9 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. in MacColl Auditorium.  Lunch will be offered on Tuesday and dinner on Wednesday.  The cost is $10 for those who would like to have lunch or dinner and RSVP in advance. to the church office.

The St. Thomas’ Festival Choir will perform the Mozart Missa Solemnis in C Major and favorite movements from Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, May 6 at the 9:30am service with orchestra.

Sunday Forum: The Parables of Jesus: Part I
The trouble with parables is that we have become too familiar with them.  We know (or think that we know) all the details of the parable of the Good Samaritan or the Prodigal Son.  Deirdre Good, professor of New Testament at the General Theological Seminary in New York, will introduce us to some of Jesus’ parables from the Gospel of Thomas that we have never heard before and compare them with some of the most famous parables that we know by heart.
